Travelling with a photographer
26 May 2014 • It was too early for me but I got up anyway. Travelling with a photographer/ship enthusiast means waking up comes with the times that the light is at its best and when ships are coming in at the port. I’m fine with it, I love passionate people. Just don’t talk to me the first half hour. The perfect spot
Our friend Luis Miguel Correia called Mike because apparently the EUROPA 2 was going to arrive early in Lisbon. Earlier than planned. We jumped out of bed.
Luis Miguel knows all the perfect spots to photograph the incoming ships. He took us to a lovely park from which we had the perfect view on the 25 de Abril bridge, the statue of the Christ and the incoming ships. Soon the first cruise ship arrived, the SEVEN SEAS VOYAGER, followed a bit later by our new home for the week, EUROPA 2.There comes our ship for this week, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' EUROPA 2
I loved watching the two photographers waiting for the right moment where our ship sailed in the sunshine, passing under the bridge. I sat there and chilled, enjoying the early sun on my skin and the view and their enthusiasm.LX Factory under the bridge of the 25th of April
When they got all the photographs they needed, Miguel had an excellent idea. He brought us to LX Factory. It’s an industrial area near the bridge that they transformed into the place to be for vintage clothes, hip restaurants and creativity all together. We had lunch under the trees, bought stuff we didn’t need but fell in love with, and enjoyed every second of it.A book shop in an old printing company buildingA restaurant in between the old print machinesLuis Miguel Correia happy to see his books on saleA magazine shop in a containerBrunch under the branch
Day 2 = a happy day.
Tomorrow = embarkation day of EUROPA 2.
